What would have happened if Henry VII was willing to return the part of Catherine's dowry that Ferdinand had already paid? Would Ferdinand have suggested that Catherine marry Prince Henry? If not, who would he have wanted Catherine to marry next? Would he have used her as a pawn to regain Castille?

With Catherine off the table who would have been Henry VIII's first wife? Were there any other foreign brides with strong Plantagenet connections?

The problem WAS NEVER Henry VII unwilling to return Catalina’s dowry. Spain wanted her wedding to the new Prince of Wales AND wanted who Catalina’s received her dower (while refuting to pay the other half BEFORE the new wedding as they supported the theory who was never consummated).
If Catalina was sent back she would most likely be used as regent in Castile after the death of her mother (who happened well after the one of Arthur) and unlikely to remarry (at least for some years).

Eleanor of Austria (in OTL Henry was engaged to her when he become King) would most likely be Henry’s first wife
